I had my wisdom teeth out, two were cut out, all under general anesthesia when I was about 24 yrs old. Self dissolving stitches, great oral surgeon, no swelling, no pain, just constant draining the first night. I don’t think I played for two weeks. Our lead trumpet player back in college came to rehearsal the night she had hers out. No way I could have. I spit blood all night. Then they started healing.

If the player is an intermediate level player, Reginald Fink Legato Studies are good prior to the ability to tackle Rochut. Schlossberg daily drills are also good as warm ups. I wrote an entire warmup packet for my students and many of the warmups are Schlossberg exercises.
