I started in June of 1957 on a 1947 Martin Indiana trombone with a Bach
mouthpiece. Don't remember the mouthpiece size, but then what fifth grader
pays attention to that? The bore was pretty small....

It was used, and my parents bought it from the parents of a student who had
just graduated from High School that year, and who didn't intend to continue
playing in college. I held onto that instrument until the 1970's, and
finally traded it in, along with 3 or 4 other instruments, to buy a King 3-B
Silversonic with F attachment.
