[Trombone-l] Your first trombone?

Started with a used silver Holton straight tenor. One of the inner slides was loose and I used bubble gum to hold it in place. Local music shop "didn't know how to fix it" but were quick to sell my mom and dad a new Olds Ambassador after I struggled with the Holton for a year. Even took the Holton in on trade for the same price mom paid for it.

Curious to hear how many of us on the list started on a really lousy instrument, silver, with a green slide and a pitted mouthpiece, etc.
