I played the Aloha Hawaii (Live via Satellite) 1973 album on Apple Music. The bass trombone is?how do I say?quite prominent in a few spots. To the point that I was wondering if there was something wrong with my speakers. Does anyone have any insight or stories about who was in that orchestra or how this mix ended up getting used? It is a trip. -Jeff *Jeff Albert * +1 (504) 315-5167 (Signal/SMS/Mobile) *www.jeffalbert.com * From joestanko at gmail.com Fri Mar 4 22:29:21 2022 From: joestanko at gmail.com (Joe Stanko) Date: Fri, 4 Mar 2022 23:29:21 -0500 Subject: [Trombone-l] Elvis in hawaii - bass trombone In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Marty Harrell. It can sound like overkill to so many, but we do what?s asked of us. One even asked me to play a great big fat juicy pedal G on 2 ensemble rests in St. Louis Blues March during a Civic Band concert and when I did it, the band didn?t know it was going to happen, and everyone in front of me literally jumped out of their seats. LOL! But it?s what he wanted! He had the biggest smile on his face when that happened. I also got dirty looks from some of the people in the band, but I told them later he told me to do that. Every time we play it.
