I played one for a couple oy years. Well built except one of the attachment mounts came unsoldered.

It was an Eastman by Shires ETB34 Thayer with the gold bell. Played quite well. I didn't like the weight (the reason I sold it). The Thayer is quite heavy.

Subject: [EXTERNAL][Trombone-l] Eastman Shires

Does anyone have any experience with the Eastman Shires trombones? I am considering purchasing one for my nephew who is going into 10th grade and could use an upgrade from his beginner instrument. At this point, he is not considering music as a career, but one never knows.

Thanks
