Bach's St. Matthew Passion as my contribution to a Musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Easter Broadcast. I played alto, small tenor, large tenor, bass and contrabass trombones. Translation of the German text of this Chorale: "When once I must depart, do not depart from me. When I must suffer death, then stand thou by me! When I most full of fear at heart shall be, then snatch me from the terrors of fear and pain by thy strength." https://youtu.be/AqK99hFiyDI James Nova Trombone - Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Brass Area Coordinator and Adjunct Trombone Faculty - Duquesne University Brass Coach - Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras jimnova.com From dbabcock at emich.edu Mon Apr 5 13:06:45 2021 From: dbabcock at emich.edu (Donald Babcock) Date: Mon, 5 Apr 2021 14:06:45 -0400 Subject: [Trombone-l] J.S. Said no reason to pull good strong teeth to replace with implants. Suggested going the braces, crown(s), veneer(s) etc. route. Don't know that I want to go through all that at this point. Guess I'll just continue looking as bad as I ever have. :-) Thanks though. My name is Sue Bermann. My husband, Jim Bermann, was active on this list for many years and loved buying and selling horns. When Jim passed away a year and a half ago he left a collection of around 20 complete bass trombones, a couple of euphoniums, a bass trumpet, bass trombone bells, slides, boxes of lead pipes, mouthpieces, cases, and various accessories and supplies. They are all professional horns and stock. I?m reaching out to the trombone community as I?m looking to sell the entire collection to one person or company. I am not a brass player so I?m not sure who to contact or where to really start. If anyone has thoughts, ideas, or is interested in buying it all, please contact me at fiddlersue at yahoo.com. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sue Bermann From jfbermann at gmail.com Sat Apr 17 18:59:37 2021 From: jfbermann at gmail.com (Jim Bermann) Date: Sat, 17 Apr 2021 19:59:37 -0400 Subject: [Trombone-l] Jim Bermann bass trombone collection Message-ID: Thank you to all who responded to me. So many of you remembered Jim and shared your memories with me as well as your condolences. All are appreciated. I will take your suggestions and contact those places that were recommended. As a few have asked, we live in Florida and getting his collection to another spot in the country could hinder the prospect of selling everything at once. I?ll find out! Again, my thanks to you all!
